Daily routine for Finwisor Family

A set of habits become routines. Routines are incredibly powerful in their long term impact.

Naturally we want everyone to reap benefits of this tool. So we have created a routine for our Finwisor family. We have also given the rationale for the routine, so that one can do it whole heartedly.

This routine is life-altering and will be something which you will take well beyond your time at Finwisor.

Meditation

It is a well documented fact that those who meditate are calmer, happier, and respond to situations better. The ultimate purpose of meditation is to reach a space beyond the mind and body which allows one to tap into the infinite cosmos. However, these days there are various meditations which amplify certain good emotions or create a valley between the circumstances and the observer.

Follow a Guru

By guru we mean an enlightened master who you connect to. All the religions promote similar virtues. Following a guru will help you reduce your ego, find deeper purpose in life, lead a calmer and happier life, love everyone around you, be selfless, have deep integrity, etc.

Finwisor believes in these values whole heartedly. So this will also help you align to Finwisor’s value system.

Discipline

Plan your journey with a long term vision.
Break it into short term goals.
Further break it down to actionable to-dos.
Schedule your tasks, meetings, etc

The to-dos and scheduling should be done daily. This allows you to be at your productive best and give more within less time. It will also prevent sleepless nights during peak times.

We also mean discipline in the sense of regularity.
Everyone knows how to be fit – exercise and eat healthy food. Everyone also wants to be fit. However, how many around you can you truly call fit!? The reason is lack of regularity in working on your goal.
Be sure to do your Daily routines on a daily basis. Don’t give yourself excuses like health, travelling, boredom, etc. All your hardwork falls flat when you break the flow. After that you again start from 0

Introspection

Introspection is generally used in a spiritual context. However, it can be great for self-development too. Introspection is the activity of reflecting on your day and evaluation what you did well today and what you could do better. Be honest with yourself. This will help you understand yourself, your tendencies, identify your mistakes. A better understanding of yourself and your tendencies will make you more alert where you usually slip. You will learn and grow much faster and not repeat your mistakes.

Gratitude

Gratitude being grateful for all the good things in your life. As a daily activity, you should write at least 5 points daily which you are grateful for. Thank God for them. Note: the heart of this activity lies not in writing, but in feeling grateful deeply.

This activity increases happiness quotient, makes one more satisfied in life, increases positivity and optimism. Happiness by itself trigger multiple good emotions and virtues.

Co-operate and Collaborate…Don’t Compete!

In today’s modern society, we are all trained to compete against each other and do our best to get to the top. In the school, college, post-graduation, workplace, reality shows, Bollywood, literally everywhere we see and hear about competitions. The one who wins them is glorified. There are award ceremonies, certificates and trophies, and glamour attached to winning. Hence our subconscious mind is unknowingly programmed to be competitive. So what’s the problem with competing!? The problem with competing is it takes people to a zero-sum game mindset. If one wins, the other loses. This concept is popularised by the name of ' scarcity mindset' . In one of the schools, a student had received 45/50 marks. That by her own standards was amazing! 90%! Then she asked her friends how many marks they had received. They had got 46, 48, 48, 50, 46 ,45. Her exuberance dropped. The same marks which made her ecstatic no more seemed appealing. The problem is the competition mindset. Y...

Stay Clean

This topic has many conflicting views. This article is meant to help. Those who agree. And especially those who disagree. I write this article not from a place of moral superiority, but as a well wisher. Please take the below views in that context. What do I mean by staying clean? We, as Indians, have a culture of not abiding by the rules. Even as proud and patriotic Indians, we disregard the tax laws, the traffic laws, and everything where the law enforcement is weak. Stats show that only 1.6% of India's population pay income tax. Even amongst those who pay, some of us underreport our income. Reasons why we don't stay clean I can empathize the causes behind such a culture. Here are the most common reasons. Corruption : Why should we pay taxes when most of it just goes in the pockets of the corrupt politicians and babus! The better alternative: It's better to give to charity rather than to the government. At least it will be put to good use. Cost of living: With such high c...

Finwisor's Unique HR Strategy

In the early days of Finwisor, I heard a friend of mine - Tushar Rokade, the then city head of Weddingz.in - say "I want to hire people who are smarter than me." What struck me about this statement was not just the humility of an MBA from IIM-L who was making strides in his own industry, but a great ideal for creating a workplace. Our HR Challenges Our unconventional objectives Our ethos, where Sewa is the primary objective and profit secondary, is something we ourselves had never heard of. There is little literature on parameters to judge people's willingness to serve. On the other hand, we live in times where career success is defined by the earnings of an individual. People aligned with our ideals are a rarity in such times. Fast-changing industry In the rapidly changing world of financial planning, the landscape is dynamic. It requires individuals who have an innate curiosity to keep molding themselves and learning as per the changing scenarios. Remuner...
